The Biological Monitoring and Abatement Program sampled the streams and soils associated with the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant over a five-year period. The study focused on the Little Beaver and Big Run watersheds that flow beside the facility and used Sugar Run and Sunfish Creek as reference streams. Sampling of the Scioto River was included as part of the bioaccumulation task and soils within the facility were evaluated for toxicity using sediment tests.
