Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture in 1976. Dr. Watson has performed or managed health assessments for numerous federal agencies, where she has gained expertise in the toxicology of chemical warfare agents and the application of these data to emergency preparedness planning. Recently, her team developed chemical warfare agent reference doses, acute exposure guideline levels for sulfur mustard and nerve agents, and other decision criteria for use in certifying sites and developing emergency response plans. She is presently a member of the Army Science Board, the Committee on Toxicology of the National Research Council, and the Peer Review Board on Toxicology of the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD). She has served on review panels for the National Academy=s Institute of Medicine, the National Research Council=s Board on Army Science and Technology, the DOD Office of Defense Research and Engineering, and the Editorial Board of Environmental Management. She has authored or co-authored over 100 articles and reports. Dr. Watson is also a fellow of The Academy of Toxicological Sciences, and a member of Sigma XI, AAAS, and the National Association of Environmental Professionals.
