Institutional Performance Improvement in Developing Countries

Lowering plant and line inefficiencies can increase end-use efficiency.

How can institutional capabilities be improved in ways that will be self-sustaining and sensitive to regional, social, and cultural differences?

A fundamental requirement is human resource development through training programs.

Institutional performance improvement is fostered by linkages between institutions with similar objectives in different countries, both North to South and South to South.

Self-sustaining performance improvement depends on structural conditions that will ensure continuing motivation and rewards.
