Education
Ph.D., Physics, 1976 University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Ph.D. in Physics with minors in Health Physics and Public Health from University of Tennessee in 1976. Dr. Gant joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1976. She has more than 30 years experience working with government agencies at all levels and applying science and technology to real-world problems. Dr. Gant has worked in a number of diverse areas, including technical and systems analysis, radiation and health physics, environmental assessment, civil defense, hazard analysis, consequence management, terrorism vulnerability assessment, emergency management, planning and conduct of emergency drills and exercises, evaluation of emergency management plans and programs, communication with general public, preparation of technical guidance and job aids, development of training courses and materials.
