Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in biomedical sciences (1991), concentration in molecular biology and biochemistry. Dr. Milanez has additional exper­ience in genetic and general toxicology and human molecular genetics. She has pub­lish­ed in major peer-reviewed journals, prepared numerous chemi­cal health effects-related docu­ments for the U.S. EPA, and developed a military-unique lead exposure standard for the U.S. Army. Her research interests include advanced molecular technologies and instru­men­tation for DNA mutation detection and analysis, especially related to human genetic-based disease.  Dr. Milanez is currently certified in General Toxicology by the American Board of Toxicology.
