Marine and hydrokinetic Activities

Dr. Neary is the ORNL's marine and hydrokinetic (MHK) technologies research and development lead, and is an adjunct research professor at St. Anthony Falls Laboratory at the University of Minnesota. His recent work includes development of guidelines for field measurements for MHK site development, flow field measurements and analysis for tidal energy site characterization at Verdant Power’s Roosevelt Island tidal energy (RITE) site in New York City, Scaled axial-flow turbine testing, and evaluation of models used for national tidal and ocean current resource assessments. He is an expert member of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for IEC TC-114 working on the specification PT62600-201, Tidal Energy Resource Assessment and Characterization.
