Notes:
Idaho Power Co. has been studying the status of white sturgeon populations in the Snake River. There are nine more-or-less isolated populations between dams on the Snake River.
The two healthiest populations are shown here in green. One is upstream between C.J.Strike and Bliss Dams. The other population is below Hell’s Canyon Dam In between, sturgeon are not doing very well for a variety of reasons.
An interesting feature is that the largest populations also have age distributions dominated by younger fish indicating that there is recruitment, while the declining populations are dominated by adults.
