The Earth and Microbial Sciences Section is one of four research sections in the Environmental Sciences Division. The division comprises four research sections, two programs, and a research support section. Interdisciplinary research is conducted in six core science areas. Research in the Earth and Microbial Sciences Section is primarily focused on two of the science areas: Microbial Biogeochemistry and Biotechnology and Environmental Process Science and Technology.
