Streams impacted by mixed contaminants:

The East Fork Poplar Creek study.

East Fork Poplar Creek (EFPC), located on the U.S. Department of Energy Reservation in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has been contaminated for over 50 years by discharges from a nuclear weapons production facility near its headwaters. Since the early 1990s, however, extensive remediation activities have reduced contaminant loading in the stream and led to significant improvements in the health of fish and other stream biota.
