Estimating the Benefits of Government-Sponsored Energy Research and Development, May 4 and 5, Hilton Crystal City

Conference Hotel

The conference will be held at:

Hilton Crystal City at National Airport
2399 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22202
     Telephone: 1-703-418-6800  Fax: 1-703-418-3763

As part of the $200 conference registration fee, for non-government "out-of-town" participants, the conference will cover the cost of a room for two nights, with March 3 arrival and March 5, 2002 departure (except for government employees who must pay for their rooms at $119/night plus taxes). When registering, conference participants should indicate for which nights they need a room, as well as which conference meals. The conference organizers will handle room reservations — participants should not themselves reserve rooms with the hotel. The conference will not cover incidental costs, parking, or travel expenses.

Information about the hotel is available on the hotel web site:

The closest airport to the hotel is Ronald Reagan National Airport. The hotel has airport shuttle service to and from the airport. Phone the hotel using the courtesy-shuttle phones in the baggage-claim area of the airport terminal. The hotel is also a short taxi ride from the airport, and is about 2-1/2 blocks from the Crystal City Metro (subway) stop. The following are walking directions from Crystal City Metro stop:

Come up the escalator to the Street level. Turn left. Use pedestrian crossings through the traffic island. Walk along South Clark Place passing Crystal City Marriott hotel on your right. (not the Marriott Crystal Gateway hotel, which is the wrong direction). Turn right at the end of hotel and continue past the entrance of the hotel to the corner of 20th Street, Clark Street and Jefferson Davis Highway. Turn left on Clark Street and proceed along South Clark Street. The Hilton Crystal City at National Airport will be directly ahead of you just beyond the intersection of 23rd Street.
