Predicted Methylators

The table of predicted methylators was compiled from the results of multiple BLASTP searches for homologs of HgcA and HgcB from Desulfovibrio desulfuricans ND132 (DND132_1056 and DND132_1057). Non-redundant coding sequence translations publicly accessible through JGI IMG/ER, NCBI and EMBL-EBI were used for the queries. Predicted methylators are identified by the presence of HgcA homologs with E-values greater than 1 x 10-40, the conserved sequence motif N(V/I)WCA(AG) and the presence of HgcB homologs. The column titled "Experimental Verification" indicates the reference that documents laboratory confirmation of methylation. The initial predictions were published in Parks et al. 2013. The table will be updated periodically as new strains are verified or predicted.
